What to expect at a Canadian beer festival
A typical Canadian craft-beer festival ticket includes a souvenir tasting glass and a book of drink tokens redeemable at each participating brewery's pour-table. Most festivals feature between 25 and 200+ breweries, cideries, meaderies and distilleries; you'll find local food trucks, live music on one or more stages, education stations (Cicerone-led guided flights, brewer meet-and-greets), and non-alcoholic offerings for designated drivers. Session length is typically 3–5 hours, and most festivals are 19+ with valid ID required at the gate. Weather policies range from "rain or shine" for outdoor events at parks and waterfronts to fully-indoor multi-hall setups at convention centres. Ticket tiers commonly include General Admission, a PLUS/Early Access tier with extra tokens, and VIP tiers that add lounge access, private washrooms, and preferred entry times.
