Terms of Service

Effective August 25, 2026. Please read before using the Site.

Plain-English summary. By using CraftBeerEvents.ca you agree to these terms. Event information is offered in good faith but always confirm details (dates, tickets, admission rules) with the official event organizer before you travel. We aren't liable for cancelled events, ticket refunds, or content on sites we link to. Don't submit spam, fake events, copyrighted images you don't own, or content that would break the law.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CraftBeerEvents.ca (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.

2. About the Site

CraftBeerEvents.ca is a Canadian craft-beer events directory. We publish event listings, festival series pages, brewery and venue references, and editorial content. We are not a ticket seller, event organizer, or venue operator. All ticket purchases and event bookings happen with the third-party organizer or ticketing platform they use.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 19 years old (the legal drinking age in most Canadian provinces) to create a user account or claim a listing on the Site. By using account features you confirm you meet that age requirement. You are responsible for the security of your sign-in email and for activity that happens under your account.

4. Event submissions and listing claims

When you submit an event via /submit-event or claim a listing via /claim-listing, you represent that:

  • The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • You have the right to submit the information — including any photos, video URLs, or text you upload or paste.
  • You are authorized to speak for the organization you claim, or to submit the event you're submitting.
  • You will keep the information current. If an event is postponed, cancelled, or sold out, we may update the listing accordingly.

By submitting content you grant CraftBeerEvents.ca a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, edit for style and length, categorize, index, and display that content on the Site and in Site-related communications (e.g. newsletters).

5. Content standards

Don't submit content that:

  • Is illegal, defamatory, misleading, harassing, or hateful.
  • Infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights, including photos you don't have the right to publish.
  • Attempts to promote events or businesses that break Canadian liquor, health, or consumer-protection law.
  • Is spam or attempts to manipulate the Site (fake claims, duplicate events, keyword stuffing, cloaked content, etc.).

We may remove or edit content that violates these standards, revoke listing claims, suspend accounts, and refuse further submissions — with or without notice.

6. Accuracy and disclaimers

Event details change. Organizers cancel, postpone, sell out, and update ticketing without telling us. We do our best to keep listings current but the authoritative source for any event is always the official organizer. Confirm dates, tickets, admission rules, age policies, and accessibility with the organizer before you travel to an event.

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Third-party links and services

The Site links to third-party organizer websites, ticketing platforms, brewery profiles on BreweryFinder.ca, and other sites. We don't control those sites, we're not responsible for their content or practices, and inclusion of a link is not an endorsement. You visit them at your own risk under their terms.

8. Featured and sponsored placements

Some listings, sections, or newsletter placements may be paid ("Featured", "Sponsored", or similar). We clearly label anything that is paid. Paid placement never removes the editorial standards described in our Editorial Policy.

9. Intellectual property

All Site design, code, editorial text, generic artwork, and databases are the property of CraftBeerEvents.ca or its licensors. Submitted content remains yours (subject to the licence in section 4). Trademarks, brewery logos, and organizer names belong to their respective owners; we use them for factual reference only.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will CraftBeerEvents.ca, its operators, contractors, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site — including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, event cancellations, refused ticket refunds, or reliance on inaccurate event information.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CraftBeerEvents.ca and its operators from any claims, damages, and expenses arising from content you submit, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or to account features at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. You may stop using the Site at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content licence, disclaimers, liability caps, indemnification, governing law) will survive.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts sitting in Vancouver, British Columbia, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction — except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date above will change and material changes will be summarised at the top of this page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Contact

Questions: hello@craftbeerevents.ca. Legal notices: legal@craftbeerevents.ca.

These Terms are provided as a template appropriate for a small Canadian directory site and are not a substitute for legal advice. Have them reviewed by a lawyer licensed in British Columbia before you rely on them for anything beyond ordinary use.
